Itinerary of the 3 Nights Camel Trek in Merzouga Sahara
Day 1: Merzouga Village – Sunset Camel Trek – Desert Camp
Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll leave your car in secure parking at our guesthouse and prepare for your 3-night desert adventure. The camel trek begins about two hours before sunset and lasts approximately 1.5 hours.
Along the way, we’ll stop in the heart of the dunes for photos, sandboarding, and to watch the spectacular sunset. Upon arrival at camp, you’ll be welcomed with mint tea. After dinner, enjoy traditional Berber drumming by the campfire before spending the night in a comfortable desert tent.
Day 2: Desert Trek – Oasis Lunch – Nomad Family Stay
Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, continue your camel trek for a few hours toward the next destination.
We’ll stop for lunch at a small oasis in the middle of the desert, offering a peaceful break. In the evening, you’ll stay with a Berber nomad family, where you’ll enjoy traditional food and gain insight into their authentic desert lifestyle — a true cultural immersion experience.
Day 3: Nomads – Black Desert – Camp in Erg Chebbi
After sunrise and breakfast, continue your journey deeper into the desert with a 1.5 to 2-hour camel trek toward your third camp.
Enjoy lunch in the shade with refreshing mint tea before relaxing in the dunes. In the evening, watch another beautiful sunset, followed by a traditional dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable desert camp (luxury option available with private shower).
