The main attarctions to explore during the 4 day itinerary:

AITBANHADDOU:

Ait Ben Haddou is a historic fortified village (ksar) located along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is renowned for its stunning earthen clay architecture and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The ksar is made up of traditional kasbahs, some of which are over 300 years old, and has served as a backdrop for numerous famous films such as Gladiator, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones. Walking through its narrow alleys feels like stepping back in time.

TODRA GORGE:

The Todra Gorge is one of Morocco’s most breathtaking natural wonders, located near the town of Tinghir. Towering limestone cliffs rise up to 300 meters high, forming a dramatic canyon carved by the Todra River over centuries. The gorge is especially narrow at certain points, creating a striking contrast between the towering rock walls and the small stream below.

RISSANI:

Rissani is a historic town in southeastern Morocco, often considered the gateway to the Sahara Desert. It was once the capital of the ancient Tafilalt region and an important stop for caravans traveling between Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa. Today, Rissani is known for its authentic souk, especially lively on market days (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays), where locals trade spices, dates, livestock, and handicrafts. The town also holds cultural and historical significance as the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, Morocco’s current royal family.

ERG CHEBBI:

The Erg Chebbi dunes are a stunning expanse of golden sand dunes located near the town of Merzouga, in southeastern Morocco. Rising up to 150 meters high, these dunes stretch over 30 kilometers and are among the most iconic landscapes of the Moroccan Sahara. Erg Chebbi offers visitors a true desert experience, with camel treks, sunset views, and overnight stays in traditional Berber camps. The ever-changing shapes and colors of the dunes, especially at sunrise and sunset, make it a magical destination for travelers seeking both adventure and tranquility.

ZIZ VALLEY: ( the second largest one in Morocco )

The Ziz Valley is a lush and fertile oasis stretching along the Ziz River in southeastern Morocco. Known for its thousands of palm trees, the valley creates a striking contrast against the surrounding arid landscapes. It’s dotted with traditional mud-brick villages and kasbahs, offering a glimpse into authentic Berber life.
