Itinerary: 5 Days Marrakech to Chefchaouen

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley (Approx. 330 km)

Your driver from Gorgeous Morocco Tours will pick you up at 8:30 AM from your accommodation in Marrakech. You will drive through the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka (2,260m) across the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying breathtaking landscapes and traditional Berber villages along the way.

Later, visit the famous Ait Benhaddou, the largest ksar in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After lunch near the kasbah, continue to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” before traveling along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert (Approx. 270 km)

After breakfast, explore the impressive rock formations of Dades Valley before continuing to Todra Gorge, where you will walk beneath towering red cliffs.

Continue through Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga. Here, your camel caravan will take you across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Enjoy sunset from the dunes before spending the night in a nomadic Berber desert camp with dinner and traditional music.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Cedar Forest – Fes (Approx. 470 km)

Wake up early for a breathtaking desert sunrise. After breakfast and a shower, depart toward Fes via Errachidia.

Drive along the scenic Ziz Valley and continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing Midelt and Azrou, where you may encounter Barbary macaques in the cedar forest. Stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, travel toward Chefchaouen, stopping first in Meknes to visit Bab Mansour and other historical sites.

Continue to the Roman ruins of Volubilis before passing through the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, where your 5-day tour concludes.
