➥Itinerary: 6 Days tour From Casablanca
Day 1: Casablanca – Meknes – Fes
Your 6-day desert tour from Casablanca begins with a pick-up from Mohammed V Airport by our driver from Gorgeous Morocco Tours. You’ll travel to Fes, passing through Meknes. Upon arrival in Fes, you’ll be dropped off at your Riad. (B&B)
Day 2: Fes – Fes (Sightseeing)
At 9:30 a.m., your local guide will pick you up at your Riad/hotel for a guided tour of Fes, often considered Morocco’s cultural capital. You’ll explore the Fes El Bali walled medina, renowned for its medieval Marinid architecture, vibrant souks, and old-world atmosphere. Key sites include the Royal Palace, Bab Boujloud, the tanneries, and more. After exploring the city, your guide will return you to your Riad. (B&B)
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast at 8:30 a.m., you’ll depart for Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture and nearby ski slopes. You’ll make a short visit to Parc la Prairie and see the iconic lion statue. Continuing on to Azrou, you’ll have a chance to see wild Barbary apes in the nearby forest.
Next, you’ll head to Midelt, known as the “Apple City,” where you’ll stop for lunch. Then, the journey continues through the scenic Ziz Valley, Morocco’s second-largest valley. You’ll arrive in Merzouga around 4 p.m., where you’ll begin your camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes.
The camel trek takes approximately one hour to reach the desert camp, with a special sunset stop amid the dunes. The camp team will welcome you and provide a private tent to enjoy a night under the starry desert sky. (B&B)
Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Early in the morning, you’ll have the opportunity to watch a breathtaking sunrise in the desert. Afterward, enjoy breakfast and shower at the camp before departing to Rissani, known for its traditional market and as the “Sahara Gate.”
Next, you’ll pass through Alnif, stopping briefly, and then head to the Todra Gorges, a popular rock-climbing destination. After lunch, you’ll continue to your hotel overlooking the Dades Valley. (B&B)
Day 5: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Your driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. to head toward Marrakech, following the scenic “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” which offers numerous photo opportunities. You’ll visit Ouarzazate, known for its film studios, Taourirt Kasbah, and the Atlas Studios.
The main stop today is at the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Morocco’s largest kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. This fortified village, set on a hill, has been featured in many films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You’ll then continue toward Marrakech via the majestic Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2,260m), arriving in the city by early evening. Your driver will drop you off at your hotel or Riad.
