Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley Distance: ~330 km

The tour begins with departure from Marrakech at 8:30 AM, traveling through the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) in the High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you will enjoy panoramic views of Berber villages and mountain landscapes.

The first major stop is Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where many movies such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed. After exploring the kasbah, you will have lunch nearby.

The journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” before heading to Kalaat Mgouna, famous for its rose products and annual Rose Festival.

The day ends with arrival in the Dades Valley, where you will spend the night in a hotel or riad surrounded by dramatic rock formations.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Distance: ~270 km

After breakfast, you will explore the scenic Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations and winding mountain roads.

Next, travel to Tinghir and the Todra Valley, famous for its large palm groves and traditional Berber villages. One of the highlights of the day is visiting Todra Gorge, where massive cliffs rise up to 300 meters, creating one of Morocco’s most impressive natural landscapes.

After lunch, continue the journey through Erfoud, a town famous for fossils and marble crafts, and Rissani, the historic trading center of the region.

In the afternoon, arrive in Merzouga, where your camel guide will take you on a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes to the desert camp. Enjoy dinner under the stars and traditional Berber music around the campfire.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert Excursion (4×4 Tour) Distance: ~80 km

Today is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga desert region with a 4×4 off-road excursion.

You will start with a visit to Khamlia village, where you can listen to traditional Gnawa music, originally brought by people from sub-Saharan Africa.

Next, visit the Mifis mines, once used for extracting minerals such as lead and fossils. The journey continues deeper into the desert to meet nomadic families, where you will share a glass of Moroccan tea and learn about their traditional lifestyle.

Later, return to your hotel near the dunes to relax or try sandboarding. In the evening, enjoy another spectacular sunset over the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Day 4: Merzouga – Alnif – Nkob – Ouarzazate Distance: ~360 km

Wake up early to watch the beautiful sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, begin the journey toward Ouarzazate.

The road passes through Alnif and Tazarine, small desert towns known for their traditional atmosphere. Continue to Nkob, famous for its many kasbahs, where you will stop for lunch.

Afterward, drive through the spectacular Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest valley, filled with thousands of palm trees and ancient villages.

Arrival in Ouarzazate in the evening for an overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech Distance: ~200 km

Before leaving Ouarzazate, visit the historic Taourirt Kasbah and the famous Atlas Film Studios, one of the largest movie studios in the world.
