Itinerary: 4 Days tour from Agadir to Marrakech

First Day: Agadir - Talouine - Taznakht - Ouarzazate

Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Agadir, heading east through the scenic Souss Valley, famous for its argan and citrus farms. Along the way, you’ll pass through Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital, where you can stop to learn about saffron production and take some great photos.

Next, the journey continues to Taznakht, a Berber town well-known for its colorful handmade carpets. As you drive through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, you’ll enjoy panoramic views and peaceful landscapes. Later in the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara and a city known for its movie studios and historical kasbahs. After checking in to your hotel or riad, enjoy a relaxing dinner and a restful night in Ouarzazate.

Second Day: Ouarzazate - Anti Atlas - Draa Valley - Rissani - Merzouga

After breakfast at your hotel in Ouarzazate, the journey continues toward the magical Sahara Desert. First, you’ll drive through Agdz, a charming town at the beginning of the Draa Valley. As you follow the Draa River, you’ll pass through one of the longest and most beautiful palm valleys in Morocco, filled with lush oases and ancient kasbahs.

Then, the road leads south through changing desert landscapes, small Berber villages, and quiet stretches of open land. Eventually, you’ll reach Rissani, a historic town once home to the ancient Alaouite dynasty. Known for its traditional market and authentic atmosphere, Rissani is also the last major stop before entering the desert.

From here, you’ll continue to Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi rise dramatically on the horizon. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before starting your camel trek into the dunes. Along the way, enjoy the peaceful silence of the desert and stop to watch a stunning sunset over the sand.

Finally, arrive at your desert camp, where a traditional Moroccan dinner will be served. Enjoy Berber music by the campfire and spend the night under the stars in your private tent.

 

Third day: Merzouga Desert - Erfoud - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

After an unforgettable night in the desert, you’ll wake early to witness a magical sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi  a moment not to be missed. Afterward, enjoy breakfast at the camp and return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, depending on your preference.

Next, the journey continues to Erfoud, a town known for its fossil workshops and marble products. Here, you can visit a local fossil museum or factory to learn how ancient sea creatures are preserved in the stone and see beautiful fossil-made decor.

From Erfoud, the drive takes you through ever-changing landscapes until you arrive at the impressive Todra Gorge. These towering canyon walls rise up to 300 meters and are popular with rock climbers and nature lovers alike. Take some time to walk along the river and soak in the incredible scenery.

After a relaxing break in the gorge, the tour continues toward the beautiful Dades Valley, also called the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Along the way, you’ll pass traditional Berber villages and dramatic rock formations. Once you reach the valley, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in a local hotel or guesthouse surrounded by peaceful mountain landscapes.

Fourth Day: Dades Valley - Aitbanhaddou - Hight Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

After enjoying breakfast in your hotel in the Dades Valley, you will begin your journey back to Marrakech, passing through some of Morocco’s most beautiful landscapes. First, you will drive through the picturesque Rose Valley, where, in the spring, the air is filled with the scent of blooming roses. You can stop at a local cooperative to learn more about rose-based products and support local artisans.

Next, the route leads you through the lush Skoura oasis, home to countless palm trees and traditional kasbahs, before continuing toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” If you’re interested, there is time to visit the world-famous Atlas Film Studios, where many international films and series have been shot.

Then, your adventure continues across the majestic High Atlas Mountains, taking the scenic road over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest in Morocco. Along the way, enjoy several panoramic viewpoints and photo stops, as well as a chance to see remote Berber villages nestled in the mountains.

Finally, you will arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon or early evening, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or riad, ending an unforgettable 4-day journey through southern Morocco.
